Lots of you will know that in May of last year I needed urgent heart surgery to replace a damaged valve. Thanks to great care from the NHS and support from the BHF I have made a complete recovery. It's only since then that I have become aware of the fantastic work of the BHF, in pioneering research into curing heart disease and providing patient care. The chances are that you or someone in your family will also benefit from this at some point, and thanks to the BHF surgical techniques are improving all the time. I hope that you will join me in raising funds to support this fantastic work. I'm in full training and am in no doubt that I will complete 50 lengths. 16 months ago I thought I was fit who knows what might have happened had I tried this. Sponsoring me at 10p per length will mean a donation £5, 20p per length raises £10, and so on.
