Paris Marathon 2018 · 8 April 2018 ·
When I finally finished my first half marathon at Kenilworth in August 2016 (took me ages!!), I was set to retire from running. I am done with running I said. I don’t like running I said. I’m hanging up the running shoes and the fanny water belt I said.
And now here we are - registered for the Paris marathon!
I decided on Unicef because they are one of the many organisations that are on the ground delivering life-saving supplies and services to the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. I was counting my lucky blessings as I was slugging out the miles today (16 to be exact) and reminded myself of how lucky I am to be here. My family were once refugees from the Vietnam crisis. They risked their lives to leave Vietnam and then lived in a refugee camp for a year before being accepted in to Australia. I know that my family (and eventually I), would not be where we are without the kindness and support received from organisations such as Unicef.
So in exchange for your kind donations, I will slug out the miles and tell you all about it.
