Hugo’s Research Fund has been set up to raise funds for research to find a cure for Becker’s Muscular Dystrophy (BMD) and raise awareness of Muscular Dystrophy in Jersey. Hugo was diagnosed with BMD in June 2016 at the age of three. As BMD is so rare, we feel it is important to raise awareness of the condition in the Jersey community. We also hope to raise as much money as possible to find a cure and reach a greater understanding of the variations in severity of the condition.

We are looking forward to running the real London marathon in October 2021 after completing the virtual challenge during Storm Alex in 2020. Running my first marathon as a virtual attempt was a significant challenge and hoping to be able to enjoy the atmosphere of a real one this year but rest assured, if the pandemic is still causing issues then the training will not be wasted and we’ll find an alternative 🤞
