Story
Although the London marathon has been postponed, the organisers have created a virtual 2.6 challenge to be held on the same day with the only requirement being it has to involve the numbers 2 & 6. I am planning a triathlon of sorts and Campbell and Blair are going to join in the action!
I will swim for 26 mins followed by a 26km cycle and a 26 min run. Hopefully I will be able to swim in the sea but it is subject to conditions and temperature (as it is still April after all) but failing that, I will do numerous laps of our heated 10m pool instead!
The boys will complete 26 laps of the pool, 26 lengths of the drive on their bikes (not sure on distance but should keep them occupied for a bit!) and will finish with 2.6 laps of the path outside our house.
Gareth will be adjudicating!
Why are we doing this? Hugo and his family are hugely important to us all so we are keen to raise awareness and much needed funds for this charity.
Hugos Research Fund has been set up to raise funds for research to find a cure for Beckers Muscular Dystrophy (BMD) and raise awareness of Muscular Dystrophy in Jersey.Hugo was diagnosed with BMD in June 2016 at the age of three. As BMD is so rare, we feel it is important to raise awareness of the condition in the Jersey community. We also hope to raise as much money as possible to find a cure and reach a greater understanding of the variations in severity of the condition.
