Story
My grandfather was diagnosed with MS before I was born and so I grew up with an awareness of this disease. When my grandfather was diagnosed, his one goal was to lead a fulfilling and well lived life and his goal was achieved through education and positive lifestyle choices. Having MS was a very small part of his identity and I will always remember him as the man who loved to travel, explore, give me lifts on his mobility scooter, had an interest in everybody in the room and loved all things engineering. Ms-uk is an essential charity providing support, education and resources. This gives people the tools they need to live their best life possible with MS.
Although I am a little nervous of running this half marathon I do appreciate that it is a mole hill in comparison to the challenges faced by those living with this disease. I believe that running the Great North to raise both donations and awareness of Ms-uk is the most worthwhile thing I can do. I have been very blessed to have a fit and healthy body and running and raising money for this worth while cause is the very least I can do, I'm a firm believer in giving back and I hope that by donating to this brilliant charity you will feel that you are giving back as well.
