Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Stuart and I will be running the Great Bristol Half Marathon in September. Many of you know that we are both keen runners and have completed many races throughout the years. I, personally (Molly) have never run for charity, I have always just done it for me. This time, however, we decided we both want to run for a charity very close to our hearts.
First Touch.
There are three reasons we are running for First Touch. First and foremost, dear friends of ours had a baby girl eight years ago. Skyla was very premature, arriving 12 weeks early at St George's Hospital. If it were not for the dedication, knowledge, equipment, and sheer determination of the First Touch team, Skyla would not be here now, perfectly healthy, and full of beans.
Secondly, eight years ago I gave birth to my son, Jack, at St George's hospital. Luckily he was a healthy little thing, born by elective c-section. But, knowing now that the First Touch team were on hand in case anything went wrong during my pregnancy, is incredibly reassuring and we hope that if we ever need a team like First Touch to save our baby, they will be there.
And last, but by no means least, most of you will know that we had a daughter who died before we had the chance to say hello. Her name is Emily, and I delivered her under general anaesthetic at St George's Hospital on 22nd February 2016. We were not given the chance to meet our little girl. Our feelings around this trauma will never ever leave us. There are reminders everywhere and Emily should be with us now, a lively, chubby and smiley little baby bringing joy to everyone around her. So, if there is any way we can prevent others going such a life changing and traumatic grief, then we want to do it. Raising money for the First Touch team will help towards equipment and staff to be able to save babies from losing their life before they've have a chance to experience it.
Please donate to this fabulous charity to help avoid the life changing heartache that comes with losing a child.
Huge thanks,
Molls and Stooz xx
