Story

Thank you so much for donating to my chosen charity and helping support Nottingham's refugees.

Your donation will specifically go towards helping mothers and children. When refugee children arrive in the UK, having faced trauma and hardship, they often have little time to actually be children. They often learn English quickly and end up being translators for their parents, meaning they are left to process incredibly tough matters from a very young age. They also often have to face difficult living/housing situations, settling into a new school and environment and coming to terms with the fact they might never return to their home country and what they know.

The Nottingham Refugee Forum use their resources and donations to arrange activities for children and their parents where children can relax, play and not think about the difficult things they've dealt with.

Through running my next marathon, raising money for this cause £1,000 could achieve so much!
