Story
St Andrews to Mongolia is a charity campaign from the University of St Andrews. The aim of this event is to drive and donate a Mitsubishi L200 and Proton Jumbuck filled with educational tools and medical equipment over 10,000 miles from St Andrews to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia to help tackle poverty in isolated Asian communities. This is a very deserving cause.
We aim to raise as much money as possible to support the GoHelp Charity and its project in Mongolia.
The St Andrews to Mongolia 2012 team in association with the St Andrews Adventure Group (S.T.A.A.G.) are attempting one of the last great challenges the world has to offer - The Mongolia Charity Rally! It is not just the driving, the trip will take extensive planning and fundraising as well as real drive and enthusiasm for the cause.
In order to complete the challenge, the group is aiming to raise a total of £15,000, to cover the purchase of the two vehicles and the journey to deliver them to the charity GoHelp in Mongolia, where the vehicles will be given to local projects who desperately need support.
As part of the University of St Andrews Campaign, we are looking to raise a substantial amount of sponsorship and funding to allow us to take the best possible vehicles and really make a difference to the lives of people in Mongolia.
