Mongol Rally 2011 · 23 July 2011 ·

We work with governments in Asia to help create a positive alternative to institutional care through local family-based care for orphaned and vulnerable children.

Story

Mongol Rally Team: May Contain NUTS - Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So after several years of longing I'm finally taking part in the MONGOL RALLY 2011 - driving a great ambulance kindly donated by South Central Ambulance Service and battle hardened by I&J Bodyshop from Goodwood in UK 7,000 miles (a third of the surface of the earth!) to Ulaan Baatar in Mongolia. The ambulance will then be donated to local charity to improve the life of some of the poorest people in the world.

In advance and along the way we're raising money for Care for Children who are introducing foster care by placing orphans into good families in Asia! www.careforchildren.com or click the logo on this page.

The trip starts on 23rd July and I have to be finished by 16th August come what may! There are around 200 teams all participating in a variety of unsuitable and emergency vehicles all under the banner of the eccentric but utterly decent League of Adventurists. http://mongolrally.theadventurists.com/. The Mongol Rally isn't about comfort and it doesn't have a great deal to do with style; what we seek is adventure. The whole point is that it's difficult!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So if you could find a way to donate A MILLION children will be grateful!

Thanks

David
