Story

At DROPOUT, we’ve been inspired by the recent momentum that has built around fighting climate change. #MoreTreesMoreLife is our new campaign to plant an entire forest worth of trees, but we need your help. The premise is simple:

Step 1: Donate £5 to our fundraising page, to plant one tree (or more) for a friend.

Step 2: T
ag that friend in a post on Facebook or Twitter using our message below, to let them know about their new gift.

Step 3:
In return, that friend should carry the gesture forward, planting a tree for a friend of their own.

Use this message if you have been gifted a tree by a friend:

Thanks for the tree @X I just planted one for @X with @dropout_mag #MoreTreesMoreLife. Follow the link to plant your tree:
https://www.justgiving.com/more-trees-more-life

If you’re yet to be gifted a tree, take the initiative and begin your own chain of tree planting using this message:

I just planted a tree for @X and I nominate them to plant one with @dropout_mag for their #MoreTreesMoreLife campaign. Follow the link to plant your tree: https://www.justgiving.com/more-trees-more-life

(In both messages replace X with your friends social media handles)

Forests cover a massive 31% of the planets land area, and aside from being a beautiful landscape feature, they serve our existence in a multitude of ways. They purify both water and air, providing us with the basic means to live. They act as a vital carbon sink, absorbing carbon dioxide that would otherwise be emitted into the atmosphere.

They also act as vital habitats for both humans and animals, with currently 80% of Earths land animals living in forest environments. Despite this, these precious resources continue to be destroyed by the reckless activity of humans. We’re losing 18.7 million acres of forests annually, equivalent to 27 football pitches every minute.

All of our donations will go towards the World Land Trust, who plant trees in previously deforested areas in Brazil, Ecuador and Kenya. Their process is 100% sustainable and they always plant native species back where they belong. From collecting the seed to nurturing the seedling to preparing the land to planting the tree to tending the sapling and protecting the new forest. Plus if the tree dies, another tree will be planted in its place. So rest assured your trees are in good hands!
