Matti has been under the care of Southampton Children’s Hospital since June 2015 when he was transferred there at only 6 days old. Thanks to a very early diagnosis of an extremely rare genetic condition and great ongoing care from the Nephro team, Matti’s kidneys lasted much longer than we thought they would. The kidneys finally failed in January 2021 and he started peritoneal dialysis on February 1st. We've been able to continue this treament at home every night and Matti’s now waiting for his kidney transplant from his mummy.

It’s been a rocky road with many hospital stays, operations and Covid complications. Matti’s so well looked after and this our way of saying thank you to G4N ward.
