The Hope 50 Ride · 30 August 2021 to 3 September 2021 ·

A 475 mile cycle challenge from Salisbury to Land's End and back again, to raise vital funds in aid of Hope and Homes for Children, so that children can live in loving families, never orphanages.

Story

Awonderfulteamofninecyclists and me are taking on a significant challenge:over100 miles a day for 4 1/2 days,totalling 475 miles.

The aim of this mightyendeavouris to raiseover£50,000for Hope and Homes for Children.  Setting off from the charity’s head office in Salisbury, our dedicated group of riders will head for Land’s End and back again in an epic1/2-day loop.

The challenge is arduous, but we are determined to cover millions ofmetres, highlighting the urgent need to help the estimated 5.4 million children across the globe who are needlessly confined to orphanages.

The focus of our fundraising effort is Ukraine, which has one of the largest systems of institutional care in Europe. There are currently almost 100,000 children confined to orphanages across the country. Children deprived of the very thing they need most, the love of a family.

Hope and Homes for Children has been working in Ukraine since 1998, developing a network of CommunityCentres, Emergency ReceptionCentres, Mother & Baby Units and supporting over 3,350 children and families.

If we hit our target we can help Hope and Homes for Children work to transform the lives of at least 50 children from Ukraine. We would be so grateful foryour support.

All donations go directly to Ukraine. With your generosity, we can continue to turn the tide so that one day, we can close every orphanage in the country and provide a loving family home for every child.

£86would cover the cost of tracing the families of two children and laying the groundwork for them to be reunited safely with their family.

£600wouldallow our experienced family support workers to provide a vulnerable family with the tailored practical and emotional help they need to care for their children and keep them safe from orphanages.

£1,140would cover the cost of reuniting a child from an orphanage with their family.

100% of all donations will go to the children in the Ukraine
