Over the past few weeks I have not been so good, nothing specific, I just felt tired & out of sorts.

And here my story begins…………………

Early March 2016, I saw my GP, Dr Ann Robinson, she arranged various investigation, including a variety of blood tests & abdominal ultrasound scan.

The blood results were back at the surgery within a couple of days. On receipt of the results, Dr Robinson asked me to attend the surgery to discuss the results. Some of test were abnormal & because of this Dr Robinson referred me to a Gynaecologist, under the 2 week rule!
A couple of weeks later after various appointments & CT scans, I saw Dr Nicholas Wood, Consultant Gynaecologist he gave me the diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer.

It was a shock to me & all the family, as you can imagine.Now we as a family have got our heads around the situation.

I saw the Dr Andrew Hindley, Oncologist at the Rosemere Cancer Centre early  April, I now have a definitive plan of treatment, starting with a course of Chemotherapy. This commenced at the end of April.

I am now on a mission to raise awareness of this diagnosis and to help others on their own journey.

I am fine with the situation I want for nothing. As you can imagine the family are backing me all the way.

The moral of this story, Nana Pix doesn’t give up. This is the legacy I want to leave for my beautiful 9 grandchildren x

I also want to fund raise for the Rosmere Cancer Centre at Preston, who I only met on the 31st March 2016 and already they have done so much for me & the family in such a short space of time.

UPDATE - Sadly our wonderful, caring, courageous, joyful and positive Wife, Mum and Nana Pix passed away on the evening of Saturday 1st February 2020. She was surrounded by her husband John and four children at St Catherine’s Hospice.

We are continuing to fundraise  for The Rosemere Cancer Foundation as Lynda was grateful for the almost 4 years of wonderful memories she was able to make due to their support following her diagnosis in 2016.
