Story
Blood Cancer UK is the new name for the charity formerly known as Bloodwise, and originally was Leukaemia research when I first ran the Bromsgrove 10K May race in 2005. As time goes on I meet more and more people affected by blood cancer and it would be great to cure all blood cancers. But to do this we need money!
Last year I ran a 10K and aimed to beat my personal best (which I did). Every time I ran I felt like I was proving to myself that I hadn’t got covid, as I was working on the suspected covid wards at the time and it was never far from my mind. After Sir Tom walked so far and raised so much I felt like I needed a different, more intense challenge this year and that 10K just wasn’t enough! I had only ever run 7 miles before training for this new goal, due to knee injuries, and so a half marathon really is a huge test for me. I started training a few weeks ago and have slowly built up to 10 miles. It’s been hard! I am hoping to complete a half marathon, which will be the furthest I have ever run (by over six miles!).
If you are able to sponsor me I would be really grateful.
Thank you
