I am running The London Marathon in memory of my friend Rachel who died on The 19th February 2017 after courageously fighting Cholangio Carcinoma for Cancer Research UK and also for The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund .and Snappy a York charity .  I am running for Yorkshire in memory of a Yorkshire lady , The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund who provide vital support to Yorkshire Children and their families and Snappy who do wonderful work supporting children and young people with disabilities in York . 

Rachel was a Wife , Mum , daughter, wife , sister, Aunt , wonderful friend and a nurse . 

She had such a positive outlook and saw the best in everyone and everything. 

I have the best memories of our time together , she had the best giggle and I am smiling now thinking of her dancing to Beyoncé. She was gorgeous inside and out . 

As a nurse she touched so many people lives , she adored her husband Matthew, her two children Will and Freya and her family and friends. 

I feel so lucky to have known her and that she was my friend .

I am running for Cancer Research UK because of the research, support and amazing work they do in helping to work against the relentless and horrible thing that is cancer , It affects so many of us and those we love and care for . 

Running London is my small contribution to helping their amazing work . 

I have three young children , one of who has special needs so training will be a challenge but I am determined to do it !
