I am running The London Marathon in memory of my close friend Rachel who was a Yorkshire lady for Cancer Research , The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund for the support they have given one of my close friends Angela who lives with a heart condition and for Snappy a small York Charity dedicated to supporting children and young people in York.

Snappy provide invaluable support to our eldest son Owen who lives with Autism . As a family we have been so touched by their kindness and the amazing work they do .

I have been primarly buggy running with our youngest son Tommy over the summer .

Running London is a life long dream , I first entered the ballot at 18 , 22 years ago . I have entered countless times since and just happened to get a place when life is particularly busy!

I know that it is not going to be easy but I am determined to give it my best possible go !
