Later this year I'm going to cycle from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City to raise money for 5 awesome charities. It will be the longest and most extreme athletic feet I will have ever even attempted. So, you may ask, what's the point?  Why are you, a not-overly-graceful-human going to ride a bicycle for thousands of miles to raise money for charity?  Why in this time, when every newspaper heading seems to hasten the oncoming gloom should we "rage, rage against the dying of [that] light?"

It's easy to get discouraged these days about the state of the world we live in, so I hope you will join me in trying to put a little bit of good back into it.  

It's like that Lily Tomlin quote: "I said 'Somebody should do something about that.' Then I realized I am somebody."  

Together, we can make a profound difference in the lives of children in Vietnam. We can help these great charities to continue their worthy missions. We can change the world in this small way, for the better. So let's do it!

www.saigonchildren.com : enables disadvantaged children and young adults in Vietnam to overcome barriers to education through building schools, providing scholarships and vocational training.

www.bluedragon.org : rescues vulnerable kids in crisis as a result of human trafficking, slavery and extreme poverty, re-uniting them with families, providing recovery services and practical solutions to everyday struggles. 

 www.koto.com.au : 'Know One, Teach One' - empowers at risk young people by providing life skills and practical training in hospitality

www.liveandgive.eu : Runs schools and orphanages to help disadvantaged children in rural Vietnam.

www.facebook.com/ila.communitynetwork : Co-ordinates fundraising activities, provides scholarships and classes in shelters and orphanages to give disadvantaged children access to education. 

The ride is organised by volunteers, and the riders cover ALL of their own expenses. Absolutely 100% of the money raised goes direct to the charities. Thank you for your gift to these children. Your donation can do so much good.
