Story
On Sunday 11th October we lost Dad as a result of a head injury following a cycling accident. In the days before his death, we (Clare, Bethan and Chris) spent time in the Neuro ICU family waiting room speaking to Doctors and Nurses about his condition and treatment. We can't praise the medical team highly enough. They were caring and compassionate and took great care of Dad in his final days.
Unfortunately the waiting room could benefit from some refurbishment. The furniture is old and the room needs redecorating. Whilst this would not have changed our situation, it could have made us feel more comfortable during a really difficult time. We would like to make a donation to the Southampton Hospital Charity to facilitate this renovation so the room is better suited to accomodating the families of patients with severe head injuries.
We have been inundated with kind messages from friends and family over the past few weeks giving condolences and offering help. If you would like to contribute to this cause we would be incredibly grateful.
Many thanks
Clare, Bethan & Chris
