Story
Our new build team has had the upmost pleasure of meeting an elderly disabled woman who is raising her granddaughter alone. Her daughter lives with them most of the time and works. Since the trailer is so old and dilapidated, she is homeless based on HUD definition. She has lived in this trailer for the past 37 years. ASP has sealed her trailer roof in the past and a local electrician has done it two other times, but it is leaking again. She has holes in floor in hallway, kitchen, and bathroom, it lacks insulation, her pipes burst in the wintertime, and she needs an accessible ramp. Our electrician goes to church with her and is willing to donate time and materials in hopes she can get a new home. He has gathered HVAC and other local contractors to donate their time as well which will save ASP around $13K. We still have a gap of about $50,000 needed to be able to serve this family. The Elizabethton community is rooting for this family, and it would be a great opportunity for ASP to be back in Carter County serving our neighbors.
