Hi there and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 28th August 2022 I turn 59 years old. On this day I'll depart from colourful Tobermory on the Isle of Mull in my sea kayak, and paddle solo and unsupported for a whole year, exploring as much of the Scottish coastline as I'm able, before returning to Tobermory on the 28th August 2023, when I turn 60 years old! The aim of this journey is to paddle at the pace of Nature, taking my time to fully immerse myself in Scotland's incredibly rich natural littoral heritage. I will literally be exploring every nook I possibly can of the craggy Scottish coastline, taking delight in all I see and experience.

I will be paddling solo and unsupported, though my wife will join me from time to time, and I hope friends will want to find me too. I'm a highly experienced sea kayaker with a few long paddling expeditions under my belt. You can find out more about my plans here - 

The LifeAfloat Scotland Tour - 22/23 — Life Afloat

I'm fundraising for Seaful for two main reasons. The first, I'm incredibly proud to be one of their Ambassadors. The second, the aims and the ethos of the charity resonate very strongly with me, especially regarding the positive benefits of meaningfully connecting to the sea and ocean for the good of our mental health. The work they do facilitating connection and the awareness of sound stewardship of our wild spaces is hugely important.
