Story

Hello everyone! I will be giving my best effort to run the London Marathon on 2nd October 2022 in memory of my sister Astrid.

Some of you may remember me as a bit of a runner, but I can say will full confidence that this will be my biggest ever challenge. At 16 years old I may have managed a speedy 400 metres but my mid 30s dad-bod is taking the prospect of more than 100 of those back-to-back with a little more seriousness. I managed my first ever half-marathon in May and have been putting in the hard training to make it to marathon distance come October.

But all, of course, in the aid of a brilliant cause. For many severely disabled children school is an impossibility and a place like Challengers provides community, a social network and much needed respite for family carers that they would otherwise be without. I know first-hand the incredible difference their work makes. For Astrid, Challengers provided a place of care, fun and play. I am looking forward to doing my bit to give back, and give other children the same opportunities my sister had.

Any donation, large or small, would be hugely appreciated!

Drop me a text if you have words of wisdom, would like to track me on the day or generally have concerns for my sanity/knees.
