On Friday 6th February, Oakley’s baby brother Hadley was diagnosed with epilepsy. Like so many families, we had no idea just how big an impact epilepsy can have — not only on the child diagnosed, but on everyone who loves them.

Oakley witnessed one of Hadley’s seizures himself. It was frightening, confusing, and incredibly hard to see, yet Oakley showed the bravest heart imaginable.

As the amazing big brother and keen little runner he is, 5-year-old Oakley wants to take on a huge challenge alongside his Daddy. Together, they will be running 26 miles in 26 days, completing the challenge on or before 26th March — Purple Day, the international day of epilepsy awareness.

Nearly every hour, another child or young person in the UK is diagnosed with epilepsy. Now that we know first-hand how confusing, worrying, and frightening the journey to diagnosis and looking ahead can be, we want to give something back and help raise awareness.

We know life is expensive, but any support, no matter how small, would mean the world and help make a real difference. 💜
