I am part of one of Heeley Plus primary care network. We believe in building community engagement and people participation in health and wellbeing. We are supporting SCCCC as they are the sort of organisation that supports this approach in our city of Sheffield. They have been supporting isolated, older people in Sheffield since 1966. They are an award-winning charity where an army of volunteers provides befriending services, visiting a vulnerable, lonely person for an hour a week to help combat loneliness. They need funding to continually recruit and train volunteers across the city. This service is free to older people, we don't believe anyone should pay for a friend.
