The Operating Theatres Appeal · 9 October 2013

There are 14.7million people – that’s more than one in six – in the UK living with a neurological condition. Here at the country's leading neurological centre, we’re passionate about supporting the hospital to help improve the lives of patients through treatment and research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The National Brain Appeal is raising £4million to fully fund a new specialist Complex Spinal Theatre as well as contributing towards a post-operative ward and a dedicated suite for the neurosurgeons - a flexible office and education space which will optimise collaborative clinical research discussions. The project is part of a £24million upgrade of the existing operating theatres and the creation of two new theatres (including complex spinal) at The National Hospital.

The number of patients requiring complex spinal surgery is rising by 20% year on year - in part due to new surgical techniques and research resulting in more effective treatment. The new theatres suite will help to cope with this rise in demand and the bespoke facilities will reduce waiting times for surgery, improve patient care and outcomes and help spearhead research into new treatments. Please help us by making a donation if you can.
