Story
Broxbourne CE Primary School has proudly chosen the Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity as its charity of choice for the 2023/2024 school Year.
All fundraising activities will be in memory of Orla Tuckwell who sadly passed away in August 2023. Orla, sister of Ava (Year 5) and Poppy (Year 3), courageously battled against a very rare form of brain cancer during the last year and subsequently spent a lot of time being treated and cared for in the amazing Great Ormond Street Hospital.
All money raised will go towards the new Children’s Cancer Centre initiative at GOSH, which will save children’s lives offering new facilities to help families stay together during their child’s treatment, a dedicated ICU for cancer patients, outdoor play areas and most importantly help create breakthrough therapies which will benefit children all over the world.

Orla was a regular at the school when dropping off/collecting her sisters and was well known for her cheeky smile and love for everyone she met, especially her sisters. She was due to start EY1 at Broxbourne CE Primary School in September 2024 but will unfortunately never get the chance to enjoy her first day, play with her friends and enjoy all that this wonderful school has to offer.
Please do all you can this year to help raise money in memory of Orla and towards such a worthy cause.
