Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On July the 4th, I will be partaking in my second Ultra event cycling 1258 miles or 2024 Kilometres in aid of Tiny Steps which is a local Charity to me and helps immensely in providing children and their families much needed help, being a small Charity they are heavily reliant on donations and often get forgotten about.
The Pan Celtic Race is a self supported race, which means you start on your own, take everything you need, sleep where you can, and that means anywhere and finish (hopefully) on your own, it is a race and not an event.
the race covers 1258 miles (which is roughly Northwich to Rome) and will be incredibly tough taking in 4 times the height of Everest in climbing or 26 Snowdons.
The plan is to ride this in under 10 days, will involve sweat, blood and tears, riding through the night, into mad winds and steep, steep climbs - it is a real test of mental strength, even more than physical.
I completed the event in 2019 (different route) and for me it was about finishing, this year I want to compete.
However, the pain I feel during this is temporary and it is my choice, pain and pleasure are equal, but the people that this money will help do not choose the pain they suffer, so it is a small thing to do, hopefully to help a lot.
