Story
Inspired by one of our own team's selfless act, PACE have pledged £25,000 to support the Ukraine humanitarian crisis. We are targeting doubling this to £50,000 by matching the £25,000 in fundraising through this page for the DEC (Disaster Emergency Committee).
PACEsetters have carried out a number of activities to support the Ukraine humanitarian crisis over the past 3 months.... you can read more about these in our story and update sections below and view updated photos and images in the gallery.
!!!! 30 Miler Challenge Successfully Completed !!!!
A huge congratulations to Alex, Al, AJ, Andrew, Chris, Christof, Dave, Sarah, Tania and Tim for successfully completing the epic Royal Marine "30 Miler Challenge" !!!
The team all showed true Commando spirit - courage, determination, unselfishness and cheerfulness in the face of adversity - and tackled this challenge with aplomb! Despite this being a proper test of physical endurance, and most importantly mental resilience, the team worked effortlessly to get everyone across the finish line together.
Lots of tired, limping and aching (but very happy!!) PACEsetters, and hopefully our efforts will continue to raise funds for all those still caught up in the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis.
A special shout out to the "morale boosters" Ed, Gail, Billy, Sid and Vess for their invaluable guidance and logistical support throughout the event, truly appreciated by the team!
Please share the Just Giving link with family, friends, colleagues and your wider network, and many thanks again to all of you who have donated and supported PACE's fundraising campaign so far to support the DEC's work in the Ukraine.

Chris and Phil have managed to assist 7 refugees, from 3 separate families, at the Korczowa refugee centre, and at their request have driven them from Poland to Germany. Some have been reunited with families in Berlin and others are now being assisted by local authorities and Chris in Hamburg.
An amazing effort by you both and we are glad you have arrived back safely. You have made a material difference to some of the refugees of this crisis - thank you.

STORY:
Soon after the start of the Ukraine crisis a PACEsetter, Chris Hoslcher, decided to undertake a courageous and inspiring trek to the Polish-Ukraine border. In his own words, he had decided to simply do “what was within my reach”.
You can read his story here: (53) Post | LinkedIn.
The Ukraine crisis has stirred up strong emotional responses at PACE and inspired by Chris, we have now planned to run multiple trips to the Poland/Ukraine border and have also started planning and organising a number of charity fund raising events including the Royal Marine "30 Miler" challenge; charity auction and quiz.
Putting our efforts and our donations behind the DEC and other charities is just one of many ways PACE are looking to support those in need during this crisis.
HOW WILL YOUR DONATION HELP?
The DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
More than half a million people have fled their homes to escape conflict in Ukraine. Leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones, they need shelter, food and water.
DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.
£30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month
£50 could provide blankets for four families to keep them warm
£100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month
WHO ARE PACE?
PACE are transformation specialists. We have been outraged, angered and in despair about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In the wake of Chris Holscher’s incredible, courageous act of kindness last week, we compiled and published the Guide to the Refugee Relocation Experience found here: (53) Post | Feed | LinkedIn
Communicating Chris’s first-hand experience of his journey to assist refugees on the Polish-Ukraine border, this guide documents the detailed steps that he took. Our hope is that this Guide will help and inspire others to make a difference.
