Story
I have been a teacher at the Royal Blind School for 24 years. I am passionate about the work that we do with children and young people with vision impairment and the work of the wider organisation. I walk 2.6 miles to work everyday but I’m not able to do that now due to the current COVID-19 lockdown. As a tenement flat dweller, I don’t have access to my own private garden and can’t walk around my local park 26 times due to current social distancing restrictions. There are, however, 63 steps in my tenement stair which means a round trip of the stair equates to 126 steps! I plan to do 26 trips on 26th April and hope to raise £1 for each of the 126 steps. Oh, and I’ll be wearing a different t-shirt each trip! Hmmm, if we multiply that by the 26 trips I’ll be making, that would make £3276! Just saying! 😁
Royal Blind is Scotland's largest visual impairment organisation. We care, educate and employ blind and partially sighted people from across the UK. We support people of all ages - from babies and toddlers at our pre-school playgroup, children at our school and after school club, young adults through our supported accommodation and respite care, and elderly people in our care home.
