Story

As you can see my bike is ready. Not sure that my legs are but my partner in crime and son, Philip (if you want to sponsor him as well or rather than me: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/philipturowski-67a1cd0821731399ca4565a3?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL&utm_campaign=015) has kept me honest and got us to train: So far we have done one training trip from North London to and around Richmond Park. Probably we still need to do more, but we'll give our best.

We also count on our team, go UCL go! Collectively, we aim for 5 hours!

This is the first real charity challenge of my life. It couldn't be a better fit: I have been cycling all my life: initially to school, the university and then to work. Research into blood vessel problems in the brain and the eye has been my work and passion for the past 24 years and the BHF has played a huge part in funding this endeavour. Without them we would not have made discovery into brain inflammation, oedema and also drug delivery to the diseased brain.

The BHF fund around £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. Heart diseases. Stroke. Vascular dementia. Diabetes. They're all connected, and they're all under our microscope.

Thousands of people every year are helped through the research we do. Research funded by everyday people, like you.

Every donation you make helps fund scientific breakthroughs. Fundraise for the BHF and help us turn science fiction into reality.
