Fundraising for YMCA DownsLink Group
Story
It's a pleasure to be overseeing the operation of YMCA Guildford part of YMCA Downslink. I have been in this role for just 7 months and on 16th March I will be sleeping out to raise the profile of homelessness and the work we at YMCA Downslink Group do to support vulnerable young people.
Every night YMCA DownsLink Group provides over 550 young people with a safe place to stay. All money raised through Sleep Easy 2018 will be used to change lives.
In Guildford Sleep Easy will raise funds for the Life Change Fund and for activities that will engage and inspire residents living in YMCA supported housing.
The Life Change Fund has supported dozens of young people with small awards towards training courses, interview clothing and deposits for accommodation.
The money we raise through Sleep Easy will offer support and opportunities so that the young people can achieve their full potential. Our aim is that they all belong, contribute and thrive.
