Story

The Royal Parks Half Marathon happened on Sunday in perfect weather and happily I made it round in 1:47:35.

Two years ago this November, Chloe Mansfield, my Godson's sister, died at the age of 9 months from an incurable lung condition.  She spent 6 months of her tragically short life in Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), where she received the most outstanding care.

However good the medical facilities, being in hospital can never make up for the joys of being at home, playing with friends and family and exploring the world.  Young children in hospital need not just fantastic treatment, but also the play and entertainment facilities that would otherwise be a normal part of growing up and which is a vital part of their learning and development.

After Chloe's untimely death, her parents founded the Chloe Mansfield Fund with the aims of raising funds for GOSH and in particular to fund improved play facilities for its young patients.  Thanks to Will and Thuy's amazing efforts, the fund is drawing closer to its target of raising £200,000 but there is still some way to go.  As my own modest contribution, I will be running in the Royal Parks half marathon in October in aid of GOSH and the Chloe Mansfield Fund.  Chloe and I would be most grateful for any support you can give.
