Already one of the biggest humanitarian crises of our time, the effects of COVID19, including a lack of international aid support and difficulties delivering physical aid, means millions are at risk of dying.
Over 3.6 million Yeminis have been forced to flee their homes since the conflict started, the majority of who are now living in makeshift shelters, tents, repurposed public buildings or basic temporary accommodation. Many face desperate conditions and struggle to survive as they search for safety, shelter and emergency aid. 80% of people live below the poverty line and 24 million people need some type of aid, out of a country of 28.5 million.
During this challenging time, UNHCR is continuing to deliver PPE and provide training to staff, but importantly is also expanding the Emergency Coronavirus payments programme, delivering one-off-cash grants to the most vulnerable families to pay for shelter, food or medicine. Your donations will help Yemeni families forced to flee.
