Since I was first invited to do this Charity Ride and up until early March 2009 I'd been pedalling the line "I'm too old, my knees are shot and I don't have the time". Then for Comic Relief Chris Moyles climbed Kilimanjaro with Fearne Cotton and I thought - to hell with it, if they can do that, I can ride a few miles through Cornwall and Devon.
Having done a few rides I now realise three days of riding 80 miles a day is a bit of a challenge (for me anyway). Some people say "It's (just) a 240 mile route across some of the best scenery the south west has to offer" but those in the know, who have sat in the saddle for more than six hours, smile and offer me Sudacrem!
Anyway the pain takes place on 19-21 June. Take a look at www.rideforpreciouslives.org.uk to find out more. The whole thing is for Children's Hospice South West a fantastic charity.
Please try and sponsor me for this, all Children's Hospices are a very, very good cause.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Children's Hospice South West gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
