We provide a lifetime of care and support to the UK Armed Forces and their families

Story

Each year, the young people and adult volunteers of Penistone Scouts’ parade through the town centre of Penistone before taking part in a service of Remembrance both outside and inside St John’s Church. We do this proudly alongside other youth organisations, the British Legion and other fabulous volunteers. Sadly, due to Coronavirus, the group are unable to take part in this important and prestigious moment of respect. We refuse to let the occasion pass by unacknowledged.

Given that we will be unable to give monies via traditional methods to the annual Poppy Appeal, we’ve come up with an alternative. We have created a JustGiving page where donations to the Poppy Appeal can be made.

We are asking all our members, those who would attend Remembrance Sunday with the group, or anyone who wishes to donate, to give what they ordinarily would have via this JustGiving Page.

We’ve done it this way rather than collecting monies at group so that the British Legion will benefit from the associated Gift Aid savings made when donating via JustGiving
