Story

The Mini Magpies Story:

Hedleys Sport in partnership with Newcastle United Foundation has recently developed a youth team. This team was formed in September 2017 and to date has 12 registered players aged between 6 -16.  The team have given named themselves The Mini Magpies.

Powerchair football is a fast paced and exciting team sport. It gives the players a real feeling of belonging and achievement. Oli Crawshaw said:

" I never thought I'd be able to play football until I started powerchair football. It's helped me to make new friends and I love it."

The initial work in setting up the club has now been completed. The club is currently at a stage whereby it wants and needs to move onto the next phase of its development, which is to compete in the North East Regional League.

In order to become competitive at this level specialist Powerchair’s are required costing approximately £6500 each. By supporting us on this trek you will be helping us with our aim of purchasing these powerchairs.

The trek involves a 42 mile walk over two days along Hadrian's Wall from Brampton to Heddon on the Wall on the 12th and 13th April. There are 20 of us, from different walks of life taking part in walking Hadrian’s Wall to support the Mini Magpies!

Please donate and help us achieve our goal to support young talents. Thank you!
