LOCAL UNDER 14S RUGBY TEAMS TURN OUT TO HELP THE UKRAINIAN HUMANITARIAN CRISIS
Perranporth Under 14s will be facing local rivals Falmouth Under 14s in a charity match to help the Ukrainian Humanitarian Crisis on Thursday 10th March at 7.30pm at Perranporth Rugby Club. There will be a collection, cake sale and a fantastic charity raffle.
The charity raffle, brilliantly organised by club member Philip Brooks, has been fortunate to secure some truly amazing prizes, including a private introductory flying lesson from Ben Ellis Perranporth Flying Club, surfing lessons at Quiksilver, Newquay, golf lessons, a selection of England and Cornish Pirates rugby kit, and an original Emily Powell painting donated by Livingstone St. Ives.
If you would like to enter the raffle but can’t attend the match, please make a donation via our Just Giving link below. For each £5 you donate, one ticket will be allocated in your name in the raffle to win a selection of fabulous prizes.
Coach Martin Marney says, “The lads were keen to do anything they could to help – they’re a great team and as soon as we suggested it to Falmouth, they couldn’t wait to get involved as well. Events in Ukraine are shocking to all of us, especially knowing that there are young people and children caught up in the violence. Sport unites people across all nations and at times like this, everyone wants to help in whatever way they can.”
Team Manager Sarah Crannis says: “We’d like to thank all the local businesses that have donated prizes – they have been amazingly generous, so I would advise anyone who can to buy a raffle ticket! There will also be a cake sale as well as donation buckets, and every amount, no matter how small, will go straight to the people who need it.”
There are three ways you can support the teams: number one, come along to the match and put whatever you can afford in the collection bucket. Number two: buy a raffle ticket for your chance to win one of many fabulous, donated prizes. And number three: any donation, however small, can be made via our Just Giving page here:
The match will take place at Perranporth Rugby Club with kick off at 7.30pm. If you are interested in donating a prize to the raffle, please get in touch.
The raffle will be drawn at 9pm on Thursday 10th March 2022.
