The OMV was founded in 1974 with two aims: To give people with disabilities opportunities for experiences away from their day to day lives. To give young people (17 - 29) the experience of caring for people with disabilities, of volunteering and of organising these activities and events.

Story

On Saturday 22 October, Peter Cole passed away.  He was 37.

As those close to him will know, Pete was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in May 2010.  After a very courageous battle, he succumbed to complications relating to his illness in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Pete is survived by his wife, Helen Cole, his 4 year old daughter, Olivia, his three sisters, Gabrielle, Madeleine and Henrietta, and his mother and father, Robert and Clodagh.

Pete was a wonderful, brave, intelligent and kind man with a wicked sense of humour. His courage in facing his illness, and his loving dedication to his family was inspirational. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him.

He did 20 pilgrimages to Lourdes the last being last summer when we, all his family, came with him. He then enjoyed a number of wonderful months of great health meaning we were able to enjoy some lovely family time.

It would mean a lot to us if you felt able to make a donation in his memory to this charity which meant so much to him.
