Story
In 2014 we marked the Centenary of the First Shots Fired
in the Great War by cycling from London to Mons with friends and members of the Lloyds Military Network.
4 years later, this November we take the return leg, cycling from Mons to London, to mark the Centenary of the Last Shots Fired, visiting the Commonwealth War Grave sites along the way.
We’ll lay a wreath at the grave of Pte George Price, the last Commonwealth soldier killed on the battlefield, shot at 10:58 on the morning of the 11th November 1918; two minutes before Armistice.
We raise money for the Royal British Legion because we’ve seen first hand the huge impact they have on the lives of veterans. And, whilst it’s important to mark the Centenary of the end of the Great War, the RBL continues to contribute more widely in conflicts closer to our time of service.
