Story
Trip dates: 2nd-23rd August 2013
In August 2013, Pete & Hannah are going to Kenya to support, encourage and teach poor and under-privileged children through sport, education and church. Pete will be helping to coach and assist with a big football tournament in Nairobi and helping with work on buildings. Hannah will be teaching children and supporting school work at Ebenezer School (part of SCI's work).
With graduate jobs lined up for September, we have decided to finance the trip costs of £4000 ourselves, but are now fundraising directly for the SCI projects. This will enable us to support the project both physically while we are there and financially on an ongoing basis. All funds raised will jointly benefit SCI and Ebenezer School, in order to support the greatest areas of need. Allocation of funding will be decided after the trip, following discussion with the project leader and the majority of materials will be sourced in Kenya to support the local community. These are likely to include sports equipment for the SCI academies (e.g. footballs, first aid kits, coaching, kit, meals for the children) as well as teaching materials for Ebenezer School, but this list is by no means exhaustive.
Your money will help transform the lives of under-privileged children. We already know this trip will be life-changing for us, but please help us make it life-changing for so many others.
