Story

I am back and going one step further than last year by doing this year’s event in a dog suit (pictures to follow). As you may be aware my Mother is partially sighted and the work of Guide Dogs has helped transform her life. Her Guide Dog, Sheba, is the best dog in the world and we as a family couldn’t have asked for a more perfect companion for my Mother.
I wanted to do something a little bit more difficult than just completing the same race again, so I have decided this year to run in the Hero Suit designed by Guide Dogs. I have even roped in my dad to help me navigate the busy streets of London as running with a giant dog head isn’t conducive to seeing easily. It will be great to share the experience this year with my whole family and I am hoping that our family’s continued fundraising efforts for Guide Dogs will help someone who needs the benefits Sheba gives my Mother.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
