I'm running the London Marathon on the 2nd October 2022 to raise money for a charity whose fantastic work we have benefited from. Three years ago my daughter Rosie was diagnosed with a rare illness called Myasthenia gravis. Its a chronic Autoimmune condition that causes muscle weakness and fatigue.

Rosie is doing really well now after multiple hospital stays and having to take many types of permanent medication. Throughout the last four years we have had such fantastic support from the NHS and her consultants at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.

We were also lucky enough to get support of the Roald Dahl's Children's Charity who provide specialist Nurses for seriously ill children. Having someone to help arrange all the treatments and be available for any questions has been such a benefit to us. It has also helped Rosie immensely to have someone consistent to talk to and work with. A huge thank you to the three nurses Faye, Katrina and Laura who have supported Rosie since 2018.

So that's why I'm taking the challenge of running 26 and a bit miles through London. This will be my second marathon and I'm hoping to get this one completed a little quicker!
