Fundraising for Cornwall Hospice Care
Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On June 27th, I will be running the 'Classic Quarter'' ultramarathon in aid of two charities. The event starts at Lizard Point (the most southerly point in the UK) and follows the South West Coast Path to Land's End (the most westerly point in the UK, hence the Quarter, from quarter of the compass!) - a total distance of 44 miles, and more ups and downs than I care to consider! I have been training specifically for this event for the last 6 months, during which time I have run over 600 miles, including my first marathon in April. I am doing the event because it represents a considerable challenge, and pushes the boundaries of what I have done before. Given this commitment, I would like to raise as much as I can for my two chosen charities.
The reason I am supporting this charity is that I believe that it offers a unique and valuable service to the people of Cornwall at the time that they need it most. This ultramarathon event is being run in Cornwall by a company based in the South West who support this cause, and I think it is important to give something back to the community in which the event is taking place.
PLEASE NOTE - I am also collecting for the Huntingtons Disease Association (HDA), an organisation who have been there and offered support to my family through recent difficult times.
