Story
Recently, whilst filming in Sudan I was imprisoned for 40 days in a tiny cage cell - which I found very hard. One thing I started every day, in order to find a positive way to cope, was running on the spot for hours - as in my mind I was preparing for the Hackney Half Marathon and running in Victoria Park with beautiful friends! Now I am released - I of course must do the Hackney Half Marathon for REAL! - and in doing so, raise money and awareness for the many refugees who suffer torture and imprisonment but find little or no help to recover. Working as a filmmaker / journalist it is often frustrating only to be reporting on the suffering and trauma of a lot of men, women and children I encounter - and not help in more positive and direct ways. This is a way to help directly and effectively those who need it - do please support me on my run and donate what you can - every penny will go to help vulnerable people who really need it.
