Story

Graham Ellis is a Chartered Surveyor and has worked as an Associate Director (residential) for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) for the last 12 years. Graham was responsible for a wide range of ground breaking initiatives including the Home Survey product range and a popular series of training seminars for surveyors. Graham has been tireless in his efforts to promote the work of RICS members and his greatest passion is improving the role and relevance of the surveyor and valuer in the home buying and selling process.

Graham has been poorly for a while and has recently announced he will not be getting a long awaited liver transplant. This will bring new challenges for Graham and his family.

Those who know Graham will not be surprised to hear that even during these difficult times, he is planning a new initiative. In his role as President of his beloved Southport Rugby Club, Graham is to lead a sponsored expedition to the South Pole – how cool is that. Every member of Southport RFC and a large number of the Surveyor Hub members are planning to collectively walk, run, cycle, swim or row the virtual 16 000 kilometres from the rugby ground on Waterloo Road to the South Pole raising money for Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals charity as we go. If the distance wasn’t hard enough we are planning to do this between the 1st and 31st July 2020. Why not come and join us?

About the charity

We purchase equipment that is above and beyond what the NHS can normally provide - as well as enhancing staff training and wellbeing. This is your hospital charity, at the heart of your community - and every penny given stays in our local area.
