Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Basically a couple of friends and I have decided to take part in the Great Midlands Fun Run 2010. It's a 8.5-mile route with an uphill climb out of Sutton Coldfield town centre, into Anchorage Rd, passing Sutton Town Hall and Wyndley Leisure Centre & Pool before turning right onto Monmouth Drive. 
From here the runners enter Sutton Park at Boldmere Gate, winding up to the Jamboree Stone, down to Town Gate, turning left towards Blackroot Pool then left at the Railway Turn before tackling ‘Cardiac Hill’ on the way out of the park at Four Oaks Gate. 
The final 1.5 miles to the finish, in Sutton Town centre, is reasonably level or downhill.  The route has been described as ‘challenging but great fun’.

I'm using this run as a tester to see if I've got what it takes to run a marathon at some point in the future and thought that it would be a good idea to raise some money for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity at the same time as raising my fitness!

As I mentioned earlier all the money that is raised will go to Macmillan Cancer Support to help them carry on improving the lives of people with cancer, their families and their carers. If you can spare some money to sponsor me for this run it would be much appreciated by me as it will motivate me to keep training but more importantly it will be even more appreciated by the people invovled with Macmillan Cancer Support. As Tesco say "every little helps" so please give what you can.
