London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Our incredible London Marathon team are taking on 26.2 miles to raise funds to improve diagnosis and treatment, and to fund research into finding a cure; to raise awareness and to give people hope, comfort and confidence to live freer, fuller lives.

Story

In December 2022, I started suffering with my bowels, bleeding heavily when going to the toilet, pains in my abdomen and worries about what was happening.

I struggled for a long time waiting for any sort of diagnosis or for tests to come back showing anything that could put my mind at rest. When I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in June 2023, I was directed to Crohn’s & Colitis UK for support and advice.

I was instantly eased from my worries as there was so much helpful information available that not only helped me understand my condition but helped me help others such as friends, family and my employer to understand without having to explain all of my symptoms which felt very embarrassing back then.

During the process of being diagnosed and getting medicated, I wasn’t able to take part in my previous fitness such as the gym and running due to the fatigue.

With the advice, support and information that I have received from Crohn’s & Colitis UK I have been able to manage my disease so much better…to the point of running for them for the London Marathon 2026, AHHHHH 😁

Crohn's & Colitis UK are the UK's leading charity for Crohn's and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. I am taking part in the 2026 TCS London Marathon to support Crohn's & Colitis UK, and your donation can help Crohn's & Colitis UK's mission to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and raise awareness.
