We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

This page is dedicated to my wonderful Dad, Derek Pitt.

My dad passed away in late 2016 after a swift and tragic battle with Alzheimer's type Dementia.  It took us a long time to actually diagnose him, but his condition quickly spiralled, and it felt like I was losing a part of him every day to this utterly cruel brain disease.

Everything that he loved...music, football and food started becoming alien concepts to him over time, the grief experienced by my family and I during this period was, and still is, indescribable.

My sister, Caroline, and I are running in the London Marathon in October in support of ARUK [Alzheimer's Research UK], and hope to raise as much as possible to help this organisation find treatments and cures for Dementia.

Thank you for your support
