Story

Thanks for visiting our 50k Pump Trolley Marathon page.

@ThePumpTrolley or www.facebook.com/50kmPumpTrolleyMarathon

We are a group of volunteers from the preserved Severn Valley Railway who have decided to take a restored original railway pump trolley on the 50k / 32mile round trip from Kidderminster Town to Bridgnorth and back. This will be done on a team based relay basis as it's very heavy - and very hard work!

Several years ago we performed this same trip, raising money for the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital who were at the time caring for Ursula Broadhurst, a long standing and much loved member of the Severn Valley Railway team.

Sadly, Ursula passed away recently so we decided to borrow the now restored Pump Trolley from it's retirement home at The Engine House Museum at Highley and raise some money once more!! This time in memory of Ursula, and again in recognition of the excellent work the hospital does for people like her to relieve suffering, and in teaching the orthopaedic surgeons of the future.
