My brother Chris, up until about a year ago, had full sight, had a great job and had the ability to do so much that we take for granted.
Think about the smallest of tasks like making a cup of tea or scrolling through Facebook on your phone or looking at photos of friends on Instagram. Then think about being able to look at your loved ones or seeing your child growing up.
Now try to comprehend doing this without your sight; not easy at all and in some cases impossible.
Unforeseen circumstances have resulted in my brother losing total vision with astronomical odds of that ever changing with current technology.
He is one person in a country where every day 250 people start losing their eye sight.
The RNIB have provided great support for him and the rehabilitation process, learning to do so much again that was once considered "simple".
Below is a short piece taken from the RNIB website:
"Every day, 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. Too many still face isolation and depression, unable to achieve their potential in a world that blocks their way. RNIB wont stop until every last psychological and physical barrier has gone for good. With your help, RNIB can be there when people need them most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you donate is helping create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier."
The donations you give will help them continue this amazing work, not just for my brother but for every single person that suffers with the loss of vision.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, your donations will be massively appreciated.
