Story

Chelsea Physic Garden Hothouse Challenge set by The John Browne Charitable Trust

Two years ago Chelsea Physic Garden got the green light to embarkon the restoration of its late Victorian teak and cast-iron glasshouses. Despite best efforts to maintain the glasshouses, after a century of constant use, the glasshouses need urgent repair. The conservation designs are finalised, the entire glasshouse plant collections have been reviewed and plans are in place to share the soon-to-be restored heritage with everyone. The Garden's task now is to raise the final £1m to complete the restoration.

The John Browne Charitable Trust (JBCT) has generously pledged to double all donations of £100 or more by 31 March 2021, up to a total of £500,000.

As Trustee of both the Chelsea Physic Garden and The JBCT,  I am fundraising to help support the Hothouse Challenge. Please support me by donating. The project will do more than restore the glasshouses, every donation will protect the Gardens amazing plant collections, and help share their stories through activities. Together we can raise the temperature!
